There are two main types of boat covers that every boat owner should be familiar with. Summer covers, often called mooring covers, are for protection during the boating season when you’re not actively engaged on your boat. Winter covers; on the other hand, are designed to offer long-term, heavy-duty protection while your boat is stored on the hard during harsh New Jersey winters.

Winter marine canvas covers are a fantastic alternative to shrink wrapping. Shrinkwrapping uses the equivalent of 2,250 plastic bags for a 20-inch boat, and all too often, when the wrapping is removed in the spring, pieces will end up in the waterways. This can be detrimental to marine life and boat equipment. For the remaining wrap that is carefully discarded, it ultimately ends up in a landfill.
Installing a winter canvas cover on your boat is an investment both for yourself and the environment. Your boat will be protected from the weather, you won’t need to pay an annual shrink-wrapping fee, and the landfills and waterways will be cleaner.

Some boats, especially sailboats, cannot easily install a mooring cover yet they still have valuable hardware and accessories onboard that warrant protection.
